Dane's Feel Good Moment

We were backing up a neighbooring deptartment on a working structure fire. It was a two story house, upper levels involved, I think it was a lightning strike.

We had been on scene for quite some time and most of the fire was out. There were small flames in the attic, but mostly hot spots. All of the family members were accounted for except the dog. The search team turned up nothing and we feared the worst.

The last of the flames were being knocked down in the attic. My team and I were doffing our gear, changing bottles and rehydrating. Sheets of water fell from the roof over the front door. Inside you could see a wonderful foam waterfall, coming down the mountain of stairs and to everyones relief a very wet dog, tail wagging, trotted out into the yard seemingly wondering what all the commotion was about. The dog shook off, and happily accepted all the attention. Happy dog, happy ending.
