| A Note from the Chief
I
would like to welcome you to the Harvest Volunteer Fire Department Web page. Our
mission is to protect the lives and property of the citizens and visitors to our
community by providing the highest levels of service in Fire Suppression, Fire
Prevention and Education, Basic Life Support and Hazardous Incident Mitigation.
Our Department is comprised of three stations, 38 members and a junior
firefighter program. We serve approximately 19,500 citizens within our community
with most of our area coverage being residential, small businesses, and some
light industry. Harvest, AL is one of the fastest growing communities within
Madison County. We operate on an annual budget of $58,000 from a 3 mil tax and
rely heavily on donations from the community. We have an average call volume of
around 900 calls per year. Of course, the success of this department is possible
because of the dedication of the members who are committed to serving the
community. I am proud to serve with such an outstanding group of men and women.
Fire Chief, Tim Westwick, EMT-B.
