Recent Harvest Incidents

HVFD was called to a reported wreck with injuries early Saturday evening.  Luckily, none of the vehicles occupants were injured and luckily the car didn't slide into the house.  Only one car and a telephone switchbox was damaged.

Harvest Fire was dispatched to a wreck with entrapment on Jeff Road at the entrance to the new Kelly Cove subdivision just south of Sparkman High School.  When units arrived on scene, they learned there was negative entrapment but couldn't figure out how the occupants got out of the car, either being thrown or by crawling out.  Another mystery at the scene was a missing manhole cover.

HVFD responded to a reported vehicle on fire on Yarbrough rd.  When firefighters arrived on scene, the whole engine compartment was engulfed.  Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control and concluded the likely cause of the fire was electrical.

Madison County Sheriffs were on scene of a single vehicle wreck early Saturday morning when they requested assistance from Harvest Fire.  When HVFD arrived on scene, we learned the car had struck a telephone pole and the pole was laying across the road.  HVFD shut down a section of Harvest rd. while we removed the pole.  Thankfully, the occupants of the car had no injuries.

Harvest was dispatched to a single vehicle MVA early Friday morning.  The vehicle had rolled over and landed in a ditch.  The driver was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

Harvest Fire responded to a 2-vehicle MVA at Wall Triana Hwy. and Yarbrough Rd.  When units arrived on scene, they learned the red vehicle had slid off the road and hit a parked vehicle at a gas pump.  Only one driver suffered minor injuries and neither of the drivers were transported to the hospital.

Harvest Fire responded to a wreck involving a motorcycle Saturday afternoon.  The driver of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries and remains in the hospital in critical condition.

21Mar09 - Single vehicle MVA on Yarbrough rd.

Harvest Fire responded to a single vehicle wreck on Yarbrough Rd.  Madison County Sheriffs and Alabama State Troopers were already on scene reporting one patient with injuries.  Patient was treated on scene and truck removed from the ditch.

19Mar09 - Shed fire on Robbins Road

Harvest was dispatched to a reported shed fire with Toney Fire as second due.  When units arrived, the shed was fully involved.  While in route, County Fire Dispatch was receiving multiple calls with reported explosions of propane tanks that were stored in the shed.  The building was a total loss but thanks to our brave Harvest and Toney firefighters, the fire did not spread to two large storage containers near the structure and a Harley Davidson motorcycle was saved.
